Suppliers & Contractors

To compliment our existing suppliers, YJLi are always keen to hear from other subcontractors who wish to work with us. We seek to engage focused specialist companies rather than labour hire or general contractors who subcontract in turn.

We have for many years supported good companies who wish to enter the rail market. If you believe you:

• are financially sound,
• have excellent customer satisfaction,
• impeccable timekeeping and
• offer good value,

YJLi will provide you with the knowledge and support that you will need to make the transition to working successfully in the rail environment.

You will need to ensure that your management and safety systems are of the required standard, that you satisfy our prequalification requirements and that you employ skilled and appropriately trained staff. We can assist with identifying rail-specific training needs.

Our working area is from the West Country to East Anglia and from the south coast to the Midlands. We welcome local specialist contractors as much as those who cover the whole area.

The prequalification questionnaire may be complemented by references, an interview, a visit to your office and sites visits before we are satisfied. Please contact our Procurement Department if you wish to begin the process.

Management of Subcontractors / Suppliers

As a member of our supply chain, YJLi will endeavour to build strong links with you. During the design or construction period regular performance meetings will be held with subcontractors to ensure that programme, quality, SHE and cost targets are being met.

As a parallel activity a subcontractor KPI system is operated by the YJLi Project Manager and you will be expected to address any issues raised swiftly and completely.

You will be expected to address any weak scores promptly and completely.

Sustainable Procurement

YJLi is committed to sustainable procurement and we recognise the benefits that it can bring to our business. We would expect you to have a similar approach and that you will be willing to assist us in demonstrating that our goals have been achieved. This may include answering Client questions.
