A multi-phase refurbishment and improvement of Golders Green station, including enabling work to permit step free access
The station was challenging to work on, as the presence of the depot nearby meant that Engineering Hours for this station are unusually short.
The station had also been built over a period of time and in various ways, so that some platform areas were solid, and some hollow with timber surfacing.
YJLi proposed innovative solutions, including a resurfacing system that was sufficiently cost effective that the client was able to afford to resurface the whole platform rather than just undertake patch repairs as they had originally intended.
As well as a full scope of refurbishment work, YJLi made the preparations for a client supplied modular train crew accommodation unit, including the required enabling work to the steeply sloped embankment.
A new CER was also constructed to accommodate the new communication equipment.
