YJLi were selected in competitive tender and against a self perform team to deliver a 'modernisation' which restores original features to Belsize Park Station

YJLi tendered for a number of Tranche 3 packages for Tube Lines, and the modernisation of Belsize Park was one of those we secured. To do so, we not only had to compete against other main contractors, but also had to meet a test of value when compared to a Tube Lines self-perform team.

The booking hall had been extensively altered in the 1980s and this scheme restored much of the original detailing as part of a general upgrade of finishes both at street level and below ground.

Several disused areas of the station were brought back into use to accommodate the renewed comms, mechanical, electrical and fire systems.

The programme period was tight, as the scheme was only six months from the abatement date by the time we were able to get access to the site and YJLi responded with enthusiasm to the challenge.
