This project has made platform 20 in the former Eurostar terminal available for domestic passengers, with step free access from platform 19

This project will facilitate reliability and performance improvements for South West Trains by easing platform congestion at Waterloo.

To achieve this significant service alterations to existing chillers mounted on the roof of platform 19 were required. Domestic communications, fire alarm and lighting had to be extended to replace the existing installations on platform 20.

Access to the new platform was provided by new steps and ramps through new openings in the dividing wall. YJLi had significant input into the layout of these ramps and steps and the resulting scheme delivered improved disabled access and greater staircase width for able bodied passengers at a lower price than the original proposals
