Construction of three large depot buildings for maintenance and servicing of London Overground rolling stock
The provision of a new maintenance facility at New Cross Gate was a variation to the Balfour Beatty Carillion contract for the East London Line upgrade.
Needing to concentrate their resources on other aspects of the project, BBC sought design and build proposals for the shell and core provision of three sheds, the largest of which was 100m by 40m and included a three storey accommodation block.
YJLi's proposals and our willingness to work alongside BBC during the post tender negotiations to make sure that time was not lost secured us the contract.
The eventual scope included not just the shell and core works but also designs for the services, architectural proposals for the fit out and the selection of depot plant.
These laid the groundwork for rapid completion of the buildings once BBC had been able to complete their enabling works.
